Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about your Botox®â€‹ treatment in Salem, New Hampshire

BEFORE THE TREATMENT
1. What is BOTOX® Cosmetic?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is the #1 selling treatment of its kind* and the first and only FDA-approved solution to temporarily improve moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines in adults. Key Benefits: Quick Treatment: Just a 10-minute procedure with minimal downtime. Fast Results: Noticeable improvement in moderate to severe frown lines within 24 to 48 hours. Predictable Outcomes: Achieves subtle, natural-looking results, so you look like yourself—just with smoother, less noticeable lines.

2. How much research has gone into Botox Cosmetic?

With over 15 years of clinical research backing its effectiveness, BOTOX® Cosmetic stands as the most extensively studied and researched treatment of its kind. Approved for use in 96 countries, its safety and efficacy have been detailed in more than 495 peer-reviewed scientific and medical journal articles. You can trust BOTOX® Cosmetic for reliable, evidence-based results.

3. How does Botox Work?

BOTOX® Cosmetic targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines — the repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, smiling and raising the eyebrows over the years. Your RichSkin provider will inject these muscles with BOTOX® Cosmetic to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will begin to notice a visible smoothing of the frown lines between your brows, your crow’s feet lines and your forehead lines.

4. Will Botox look overdone or unnatural?

You’ll look like yourself—just with fewer noticeable lines. The goal is to enhance your natural appearance so subtly that no one will be able to tell you’ve had anything done.

 DURING THE TREATMENT
1. How much time does the treatment take?

The injection process takes just 10 minutes. During your visit, your RichSkin provider will discuss your treatment goals and conduct a facial analysis to identify the optimal areas for your BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment.

2. What should I expect? Does the treatment hurt?

Some patients describe the sensation of BOTOX® Cosmetic injections as a slight pinch. If you have concerns about discomfort, your specialist can apply a topical numbing cream before the treatment to help ensure a more comfortable experience.

3. How many injection will I receive?

BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment is tailored to meet your specific goals and needs. During your consultation with your RichSkin provider, they will assess the areas you want to address, such as moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines. Only BOTOX® Cosmetic is FDA-approved to treat all three of these areas. Here’s how the treatment is customized: Crow’s Feet: Your specialist will administer injections in 3 key areas around the muscle that frames the side of each eye, targeting both sides. Frown Lines: Your specialist will provide 5 injections into the muscles between your brows and your forehead. Forehead Lines: Your specialist will deliver 5-10 injections into the muscle across your forehead. This approach ensures that each area receives precise treatment for optimal results.

AFTER THE TREATMENT
1. When will I see results?

After BOTOX® is injected into the targeted muscles, the weakening effect gradually starts to take place within 3 to 7 days, with full results typically visible in about two weeks.

 2. How long will my results last

BOTOX® results typically last about 2 to 3 months initially. With consistent treatments, the effects may extend beyond four months, providing longer-lasting results as you maintain your appointment schedule.

3. Is there any downtime/How long is recovery time?

There is absolutely no downtime with BOTOX® Cosmetic. The treatment area might appear slightly red, but this usually fades within 1 to 2 hours. Some bruising may occur, but it typically lasts only a few days to a week and can be easily covered with makeup.

 4. Do I need to do anything after my treatment?

Avoid having a facial, rubbing, or massaging the treated area for 72 hours after your treatment. Additionally, refrain from lying down or engaging in strenuous exercise for at least four hours following your procedure.

5. If I got a treatment on my face, can I put makeup up on right after?

Yes, you can apply makeup and/or lotion immediately after your treatment.
