PHOTOREJUVENATION
RichSkin offers Venus Concept's photofacial treatments, which are highly effective in targeting and reducing discoloration beneath the skin's surface. This treatment also addresses vascular marks, such as spider veins and port wine stains, which are often caused by UV exposure. With just a few quick sessions, you can see a noticeable improvement. Our photorejuvenation treatment employs IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology, using the SR515 & SR580 applicators to deliver targeted bursts of energy. This light is absorbed by specific chromophores in the skin—hemoglobin for vascular issues and melanin for pigmented lesions—leading to a more even skin tone and diminished discoloration.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about your IPL treatment
BEFORE THE TREATMENT
1. Am I a good candidate for this treatment? / Will this treatment work for me?
The ideal candidate for photofacial treatments is someone with an uneven complexion, signs of discoloration, or visible veins on their skin. These treatments are also effective for improving the appearance of fine lines.
2. I have darker skin - can I still get this treatment done?
Photofacial treatments work best for light to medium skin tones.
3. Can I do it during my lunch break?
Absolutely. Exact treatment times may vary depending on the patient, but a single session typically takes 15-20 minutes.
4. How many sessions will I need to see results?
Typically, you may start to see results after just one session, but optimal results usually require multiple sessions. For photofacial treatments, it's common to need about 3-6 sessions, spaced 3-4 weeks apart, to achieve the best outcome. The exact number of sessions can vary depending on your skin condition and individual response to the treatment.
5. How often/far apart should the treatments be?
3 weeks apart.
6. Do I need to do anything to prepare for the treatment?
Make sure your skin is clean before your photofacial session. Avoid applying lotions, creams, or makeup, and stop using any potentially irritating products 2-3 days beforehand. Refrain from tanning, including self-tanners, and consider shaving the treatment area if advised. Additionally, remove all jewelry from the area being treated.
DURING THE TREATMENT
1. How long does a treatment session last?
15-20 minutes, depending on the area being treated.
2. What does the treatment feel like?
The IPL treatment feels like a light snap or flick on the surface of the skin.
3. Will it be painful?
The applicator has a built-in cooling feature to enhance comfort during the treatment, but you might experience some discomfort, especially in more sensitive areas like the upper lip. If the discomfort is too much, let the operator know; they can adjust the treatment settings to help minimize any discomfort.
AFTER THE TREATMENT
1. How will my skin feel after my treatment?
Your skin may feel warm, similar to a sunburn, and could remain red for a few hours to a day. Be sure to follow the pre- and post-treatment instructions carefully for the best results.
2. How long will the results last and are they permanent?
It really depends on how your skin reacts to the treatment and your post-care routine. Protecting your skin from the sun can extend the results. Generally, we recommend a touch-up session every 3-6 months, depending on your skin's response to the treatment.
3. Is there any downtime?
There is no downtime.
4. Do I need to do anything after my treatment?
Avoid tanning for at least 2 weeks before and after your treatment, and make sure to wear sunscreen. For the first 2 days post-treatment, steer clear of hot baths, massages, and any other treatments that involve direct contact with your skin.
5. If I got a treatment on my face, can I put makeup up on right after?
Yes, but make sure you put on sunscreen first.
