BEFORE THE TREATMENT

1. What devices can do skin resurfacing?

If you’re getting a thulium laser skin resurfacing treatment done, your treatment provider at RichSkin will be using Lutronic Ultra™.

2. Is there any downtime?

You will experience mild redness following your Lutronic Ultra treatment and you will be able to resume normal activities immediately.  Full healing may take 5 to 7 days but makeup may be applied sooner upon direction from your treatment provider.

3. I have darker skin - can I still get this treatment done?

Yes. RichSkin uses Lutronic Ultra’s skin resurfacing treatments.  This technology is safe and effective for all skin tones, even darker ones.

4. How many sessions will I need to see results?

5. How often/far apart should the treatments be?

Treatments are done 3/4 weeks apart.

6. Do I need to do anything to prepare for the treatment?

Make sure your skin is clean. Do not apply any lotions, creams, perfumes, powder, or makeup before your treatment session. Remove all jewelry around the area being treated. If you have excessive hair on the treatment area, shave it beforehand. It also helps to be prepared with information about your medical history—the your providers at RichSkin will likely ask about it.

DURING THE TREATMENT

1. How long does a treatment session last?

Treatments range from 5 to 20 minutes, depending upon the area being treated.  Some Ultra treatments are so quick that patients refer to it as Lunchtime Facial!

2. What does the treatment feel like?

Discomfort during Ultra treatments is variable.  Most patients describe the sensation as "mild to moderate" discomfort.  Your provider at RichSkin may elect to apply a topical numbing cream to minimize discomfort.

AFTER THE TREATMENT

1. How will my skin feel after my treatment?

Immediately following the treatment, you will notice some redness which will lessen over the next day or so.  The following 5-6 days your skin will have a dry, sandpaper-like texture.  This is normal and will resolve as your skin exfoliates, revealing fresher, clearer skin.

2. How long will the results last and are they permanent?

After your final treatment, your results will continue to improve. However, one touch- up session may be needed approximately every 6 months, depending on how your skin responds.
